Happy new year!!! (like 26 days late)

I’ve had the customary January exams, nightmare school work and uni stuff going on! But that’s not a good enough excuse for my lack of blogging, is it?!

Well, today I’m contemplating knitting some slipper socks, as I got some shop brought ones for Christmas, but they’re useless! They’ve got a hole in them and I only wore them 3 times! I’ve got some merino arran left, so I think that’s what I’ll do.

At the moment I’m waiting on some flapjack to be finished. It’s a new recipe that doesn’t use any golden syrrup. They’ve got a yummy smelling cinnamon and apple filling, so I can’t wait to eat them!!!!

On the sewing front I’ve made a bag and a skirt, which I’m in love with and once I’ve got my camera back from Sister, I’ll pop some pictures up.

Any hoo, the timer’s just pinged so I’d etter get those flapjacks out of the oven!!

I won’t leave it so long until the next post!

Well, what’s happened since I last said something?

I turned 18, a landmark birthday that was spent at an interview. I sadly got no knitting stuff, but I did get a sewing machine!!! (Yay!) a tent (because I need one!) and a stove, which my friends brought me. They’re the biggies! I got some fabulous jewllery, which I’m wearing non-stop!

Anyway, we (the family) went up to the Lakes last weekend, as that’s where I wanted to be for my birthday, it was lovely. Then I was up in Ambleside on wednesday for an interview at Cumbria uni.

I’ve got two offers from Cumbria, out of three possible ones. I haven’t heard back from wednesday’s interview yet.

Knitting news… very little! I’m in love with Dahlia on this month’s Knitty. So I think that’s going to be on my to knit list!

Sewing news… I’m currently doing a little embroidery, which may or may not be popped onto a cushion for my friend’s birthday. It depends if i finish it in time!!

Life is pretty good at the moment :)

I’ve got a conditional offer from Liverpool Hope!!! I’m very happy!!!!

Had my interview at Liverpool Hope, loved it! I should be hearing any day! I’ve got interviews at Cumbria on the 5th Dec (my 18th bday!!) and the 12th Dec! So I’m rather excited!!!

I finished Mrs Darcy, haven’t got any photo’s tho!! I know! I’ll ask my friend to take some. I forgot to take them before I gave it to her!

I’m currently listening to You Me at Six, I’m totally in love with them! Their songs are the perfect mix of good old rock with feel good poppy aspects. A bit like Count to Ten, who are my fave band at the moment! Their songs just make me smile! Which to me makes them an amazing band!

Anyways…. I’m off!

Well, I have been an especially bad blogger haven’t I?!

I was on holiday in good old Scotland, and then last week was just a big old first week back with lots of things to do!

I had the Halloween party, which was interesting, I find watching drunk people very amusing since I don’t drink myself! Then I had my performance studies performance (try saying that ten time fast!) which I think went really well, the audience responded really well, and my parents said it was very professional, which is high praise indeed since my mum did alot of theatre work.

I have a mountain of school work to do, which is what I’m going to do next. I’ve also got to finish Mrs Darcy by Friday! only got half a sleeve to do, but then I’ve got to put it all together, nightmare!!!

So I’m off to plough through some psychology work!

OOOH! My UCAS application (the thing that uni applications go through was sent off last week! I feel all grown up !)

Sister was very happy/pleased/excited about her Pub Knitting book! Her boyfriend didn’t quite understand the excitement! I also got her a mug (have I already said that?!) which she liked, mainly because she chose it!

The hedgehog birthday cake (a tradition) which I made looked pretty darn good but tasted awful!!! I don’t know what happened!! I normally make really good cakes! This one just tasted of cardboard!! Sister’s bf was very nice about it and ate his slice unlike the rest of the family who told me it was foul!! Such honesty!

Not got any knitting news. It’s half term now so I’ll probably get quite abit done!! Thank goodness I’m starting to get all shaky :)

Yesterday my Grandma taught me how to knit on 4, yes 4, needles! Now to you other knitters it may seem a tad trivial, but I’ve been so scared of knitting on 4 needles!! And well, now I can! Sort of! So I’m very excited! End-paper mittens here I come!

Today I taught Ruth how to cast on! She was really good at it! It’s so much fun teaching other people to knit! Oh, and a TA I know told me she’s going to bring in Wild Knits! for me to have a look at, which is sweet of her. I only know her cos I passed her on the stairs and asked her if she was wearing the cardi out of Stitch and Bitch! So I now have a knitting friend I can turn to for advise! Which is always good! Since I’m normally the one giving knitting advise. Although I don’t feel at all qualified to do!

What other exciting news? It’s sister’s birthday tomorrow, she’s all grown up (16). I’ve brought her the Rowan Pub Knitting book, which I may have to borrow!

Right I’m off to bake her a cake!
