I’m in a total knitting rut!

I just wanna knit something for myself! I’m knitting a cardi for my friend, which I don’t want to give her because the wool (100% merino) is so yummy and the cardi’s so cute! How selfish!

And the other thing I’m knitting is a hat, my own pattern, I made the pattern for my friend Ruth, she wanted to knit a hat for a baby so I wrote it, We’re knitting it together mainly because I want to know if this pattern will work and if I’m knitting it then I can make adjustments then tell Ruth.

I’ve found something I really wnat to knit, the End-paper mitts, from See Eunny Knit http://www.eunnyjang.com/knit/ the pattern is amazing! I love them in the colours Mary of http://indieknits.wordpress.com/ fame, has knit them in. But I’ve never done colour work and I’ve never done anything on 5 needles before! But my thinking is that I need to learn those skills so why not combine them in one project?!?

Ah, so much thinking to be done!

I love kites. Ok I find them very scary, but I love them. Went to the beach on Saturday, but there was no wind at all. So sister and I messed around in the sea, body-boarding on the kite-board (very uncomfortable due to the foot-straps sticking in places you really don’t want them to!) lots of fun!

Had a driving lesson today, quite good, only stalled once! It was my fault for being in the wrong gear! Got my test soon! Yay!

Knitting wise I’ve nearly finished Mrs Darcy. It’s taken so long because I’ve hardly been knitting. I’ve got my friends knitting though, and I’ve just designed a baby hat for my friend to knit. I hope it works out! I’ll post the pattern if it does.

I have proof that chivilry isn’t dead!! This guy who I catch the bus with saw me shivering and let me wear his jacket, while he stood freezing in his shirt. Very sweet! It made me smile.

Passed my driving theory test last week, which is great, now I’ve just gotta do my actual test!!!

Been out flying the kites on the beach for the past couple of weekends, which was fun! I haven’t quite got the hang of the inflateable kites yet, I tried it on Saturday but it was dragging me even at the edge of the wind window (that’s where it’s not meant to drag!) so I’ve stuck to the little power kites, (when I say little I’m talking about 5m) which I feel more comfortable with! Going to the beach this weekend, so I’ll update then.

I’m a very bad blogger!!!

I don’t even have an excuse for not writing in ages!

Ok, what have I been doing? School’s a nightmare but when isn’t it? I’ve only got one year left, not even that, so it’s a case of soldiering on and looking towards the big bright future, which is Uni!

I knitted my first ever scarf on Saturday, it’s huge and it took me 5 hours. I did it in the car whilst Dad and I were picking up some kites and a Kitesurfing board. I’m gonna post pics and a pattern when I get round to actually taking a phot of it.

That’s pretty much all I’ve been doing, I’m afraid! Had some good flying weather so the kites have been out alot. But not much else has been happening. Been concentrating on school stuff.

Ok, I’ve gotta get back to finding an inspired song for the opening dance in our performance. I’m thinking Queen, or Meatloaf “Life is a Lemon”.

We sadly sold our beautiful boat on Saturday! But she’s gone to a loving home where I hope she’ll be well looked after! (I make her sound like a human or something!)

But on a happier note dad and I have taken up power-kiting and are looking into kite surfing. So one hobby out another comes in!!

I’m loving power-kiting! It’s fun fun fun! It’s amazing how powerful the wind is, it lifted me off my feet and we’ve only got a 2.7m kite!

My dear RS friend informed me today that it’s only 14 weeks until Christmas, so I’m all panicky about Christmas pressies! It’s only September but I like to be organised!

There’s been zero knitting since I went back to school, but I’ll be doing some this weekend, so I’ll have updates!

Right I’m off to do Psychology work, which I’m putting off! :)

My new Nomads catalogue has arrived and as you can tell I’m very excited!

I love Nomads anyway, but tis one has supassed itself! The clothes are more beautiful than ever! I could spend a fortune, but as I do not have a fortune I won’t!

Just a quick post, now I’m going back to researching The Kingdom of God for RS! Yay!

I finished the socks last night, but I forgot to take a photo, so I’ll ask Emma to take one and send it to me. She seemed happy with them!

Yesterday was spent unravelling and sewing up the bluming things! But I complied a list of good knitting TV, here goes:

  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer (this is just a great programme!)
  • Charmed
  • Anything on UKTV Food (I like to watch cookery things, not sure why…)
  • Will and Grace
  • Animal Cops Houston (although I cry every time I watch it, so not good if I need to concentrate!)
  • Kerrang or Scuzz (good old Rock n Roll to get you knitting like a crazy person)

That’s all I’ve got so far, any other ideas?

Today’s been pretty bad, on the dissapointing people front! I dropped English Lit and my teacher wasn’t too happy! In fact the head of the department told me I was a “very silly girl” for dropping it. So as you can imagine I’m not smiley happy at the moment! Crying has been done. So on my way home I brought some chocolate (which was scoffed in seconds!) and I’ve just had some Animal biscuits so I feel awful! That’s why this post is called “Not to self: Food doesn’t help!” because it doesn’t! I feel bad when I eat chocolate at the best of times but now I just feel awful.

So remember, people, food isn’t comforting!!!!! At least not for me.
